It worked fine. It was just that we didn't know where to start with opening the program. I couldn't get it to install so there was an icon that took us into the whole program. I found out that if I clicked on the one icon it opened the one we needed. The service manual will be of great help for later when the ink absorption pad needs changing. I made the mistake of upgrading the firmware in my Epson XP-434. That caused my ink cartridges to not be recognized. I found this WIC Reset Utility after after searching for original firmware version. I bought the key and plugged it into the utility, and bingo 10 minutes later I was up and running. Thanks a bunch 2manuals.com!

I replaced the waste ink tank and thought all was good until I received the dreadful message that ink pad was at the end of service life. I had previously downloaded the WIC program. I was skeptical, but figured I would give it a shot. I ordered a key, installed it, and had to play around a little bit, but finally got the all clear. Could not be happier. Highly, highly, highly recommend it.

Oh my golly, I didn't think that would work, but it fixed it in about 30 seconds. Even though I hadn't been able to disable the process monitor thing that it says do first, the reset program still worked instantly when I ran it on an Epson XP-540. If there is one thing that gets my goat in terms of being so unethical both a rip-off financially and environmentally unsustainable, its the way printer companies rip us off. So am super grateful to have found a way round this. For a much more reasonable price than the printer shop told us, and something I could do at home when I needed the printer urgently for work! Thanks so much!
